We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Platform Engineer to join our growing engineering team. In this pivotal role, you'll be a key contributor in designing, building, and maintaining the core infrastructure and tooling that powers Copado's products. You'll tackle complex technical challenges, lead significant initiatives, and mentor junior team members, all while ensuring our critical systems enable developers to build and deploy applications efficiently, reliably, and at scale. Lead Design & Implementation: Architect, design, and lead the implementation of highly scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure (primarily Google Cloud and AWS) using advanced Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles (e.g., Terraform).
Drive Automation & Optimization: Develop, maintain, and evangelize automation best practices for deployment, monitoring, alerting, and operational tasks across our entire platform.
Elevate Developer Experience: Proactively identify pain points and build robust, innovative internal tools, sophisticated CI/CD pipelines, and optimized development environments to significantly improve developer productivity and release velocity.
Ensure Resiliency & Performance: Implement, manage, and optimize comprehensive monitoring, logging, and tracing solutions to proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve complex issues, ensuring the highest levels of availability and performance for our services.
Champion Security: Collaborate closely with security teams to embed and enforce advanced security best practices across all infrastructure, systems, and applications.
Expert Troubleshooting: Act as a subject matter expert for diagnosing and resolving the most challenging infrastructure and application issues, participating in on-call rotations with a focus on root cause analysis and prevention.
Mentor & Collaborate: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence. Work cross-functionally with software engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to translate complex requirements into robust, scalable solutions.
Innovate & Strategize: Research, evaluate, and advocate for new technologies, tools, and methodologies that can strategically improve our platform's capabilities and operational efficiency.
Define Best Practices: Create and maintain comprehensive, high-quality documentation for infrastructure, systems, and operational procedures, setting standards for the team.
5+ years of experience in a Senior Platform Engineering, Lead DevOps Engineering, or Senior Site Reliability Engineering role.
Deep, hands-on expertise in cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud and AWS. Proficient with a wide range of services including:
-AWS: EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch.
-Google Cloud: Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, VPC, IAM, Cloud Monitoring/Logging, Cloud Service Mesh.
Advanced proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, including module development and state management best practices.
Extensive experience designing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines for complex, distributed systems.
Exceptional scripting and programming skills in at least one language (e.g., Python, Go, Rust, Java, Bash), with a focus on writing maintainable, scalable code.
Strong expertise with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes (GKE / EKS preferred), including operational best practices.
In-depth knowledge of monitoring, logging, and tracing tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Coralogix), with experience setting up advanced alerts and dashboards.
Comprehensive understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, Load Balancing, VPNs, routing, security groups, firewalls) and their application in cloud environments.
Expertise with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows.
Proven ability to lead technical initiatives, solve highly complex problems, and make sound architectural decisions with a proactive, results-oriented approach.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences and influence technical direction.
Experience mentoring junior engineers and fostering a collaborative team environment.
Prior experience with Salesforce platform development, architecture, or administration.
Expertise in database administration (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, NoSQL databases).
Demonstrated experience with security best practices, compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, FedRAMP), and vulnerability management.
Active contributions to open-source projects or a strong technical blog/portfolio.
