Brief summary of role:

Our Global Accounting function plays a critical role in maintaining financial accuracy, control, and scalability across Copado’s rapidly growing multi-entity environment. As we continue to expand internationally, we are strengthening our accounting operations to ensure timely month-end close, consistent compliance, and operational excellence across all financial processes.

As the Accounting Operations Leader, you will oversee and guide the teams responsible for General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), commissions, invoicing, payroll operations, procurement, and financial systems. You will partner closely with the Head of Corporate Accounting, cross-functional leaders, auditors, and business stakeholders to streamline processes, enhance internal controls, and ensure accurate, efficient financial operations across all Copado entities.

This role also plays a key part in driving process improvements, scaling systems and workflows, and supporting global consolidation as the company grows. You will lead a high-performing finance team, bring strategic thought leadership, and ensure that Copado’s financial operations remain compliant, transparent, and scalable.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Oversee the Accounting team comprising: General Ledger, Revenue Accounting, and SEC Reporting, which is a talented and dedicated team of accounting professionals ranging from Staff Accountant to Associate Accounting Manager

  • Lead change management initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness, streamline accounting processes, and drive continuous improvement.

  • Leadership & Team Management

    • Establish and monitor KPIs to assess team performance and ensure alignment with department and company goals.

    • Sets strategy and execution plan for department to achieve mid-term team results (> 3 mos). Defines strategy for the team in alignment with stakeholders, company-wide priorities and customer needs.

  • Operational Excellence

    • Oversee the monthly close process, ensuring accurate and timely reconciliations of key accounts.

    • Optimize workflows and processes to improve efficiency, reduce manual effort, and mitigate risk.

    • Implement and maintain robust internal controls to ensure compliance with SOX and other regulatory requirements.

  • Process Improvements

    • Identify and lead initiatives to automate manual processes in payroll, AP, and expense management.

    • Develop and document policies, procedures, and best practices to support scalability and readiness for public company reporting.

  • Provide insights into the financial results as part of the monthly financial review meetings with Copado Finance management.

  • Provide oversight of various system projects and other initiatives relevant to the Accounting team. In particular, focus on efforts to automate processes where possible, especially through AI and large language model (LLM) tools, implement new systems when required, and maximize the utilization of the Company’s various accounting and financial reporting systems.

  • Ensure compliance with statutory reporting filings for Copado's international entities based in North America and Europe.

  • Review certain periodic accounting entries and reconciliations for riskier and complex accounts, as required.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Accounting Operations, Tax, Treasury, and FP&A teams by proactively collaborating to ensure the efficient and accurate flow of information, fostering alignment, and supporting business objectives.

We are looking for someone with:

  • CPA designation required.

  • 10+ years of relevant Accounting work experience required.

  • Big 4 public accounting or public company experience preferred.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks for the team while continuing to meet goals and deadlines.

  • Experience in implementing new accounting systems and processes is a plus, particularly within AI or LLM tools.

  • Confidence in dealing with senior management in the Finance team, and other teams within Copado.
